Tuition

We are committed to offering options for those who need help paying the full tuition. Waivers are submitted for review before the first class. *No one will be turned away due to the inability to pay tuition.

Covid-19 Safety

For continued safety and compliance with CDC (Centers for Disease Control), each classroom will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each session. Students will be encouraged to wear a face mask (gloves are optional). Students will be reminded of safety procedures such as distancing and cleanliness. Temperatures will be taken before entering the classroom. It is essential that anyone involved in any school activity inform mentors and/or school personnel of symptoms, reporting any illness or health situation immediately. Class sizes will be no more than six students and 1-2 mentors. Outside visitors will not be allowed unless authorized by the Facilitator. These measures will remain in place for the safety of us all.

Class sizes are limited from 4 to 8 people. Most supplies will be provided for all students and participants, with exceptions for certain classes. Sign up today by calling, texting, or online.

2024 Summer-Fall Classes

  • Hopi Noova Hopi Foods

    A Hopi mentor will teach preparation of various Hopi foods. Class size limited to six. Ages 12+ and older. Date: July 8th -11th Monday- Thursday, Time: 8:00am to 1:00pm. Location: Iskasopku gallery, Highway 264-mile marker 380.4 Songoopavi, Az.

    Tuition: $80.00

  • Pitkuna Embroidery

    This class is for initiated Hopi men and women who are interested in learning to embroider the pitkuna design on monk’s cloth (supplied by Hopitutuqaiki) or on an authentic Hopi kilt (provided by students). Class size limited to 6. Date (two weeks): July 29th through August 1st AND August 5th through August 8th Monday- Thursday. Time: 5:30pm to 9:00pm. Location: Hopitutuqaiki classroom Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Fabric Crafts

    Students will learn to construct a cloth tote bag and a zippered box bag. Some sewing experience helpful. Class size limited to 6. Date: July 16th, 17th, and 18th, Tuesday- Thursday. Time: 5:30pm to 9:00pm. Location: Hopitutuqaiki classroom Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Yungyapu Hopi wicker plaque

    This class is open to initiated Hopi women from the 3rd mesa villages who are interested in learning to make a Yungyapu, wicker plaque. Class size limited to four. Date (two weeks): August 19th through August 23rd AND August 26th through August 30th Monday- Friday. Time: (Evenings) 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Location: Peace Academic Campus classroom one, Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Star Quilt Top

    Students will learn to complete a Lone Star quilt top using the strip piecing method. Quilting and sewing experience are required. Date (two weeks): August 26th-30th AND September 3rd-6th Monday -Thursday. Time: (evenings) 5:30pm to 9:00pm. Location Hopitutuqaiki classroom Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Pueblo Moccasins

    Learn to make a child size pair of Pueblo moccasins. A visiting mentor will guide students in making a pair of Pueblo style moccasins using the outside stitch. This class is open to both men and women. Date/Times: Friday September 13th 5:30pm-9:00pm, Saturday September 14th 9:00am to 4:00pm, and Sunday September 15th 9:00am to 1:00 pm. Location Hopitutuqaiki classroom Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Tuu ii’ hii’ White cotton sewn cape

    Students will learn to create a white applique’ cape using a sewing machine for construction. Applique’ techniques are used, this is considered an advanced class. Class size limited to four. Date: (three weeks) September 10, 11th, and 12th, September 17th, 18th, and 20th, AND October 15th, 16th, and 17th Tuesday-Thursday. Time (evenings): 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Location: Hopitutuqaiki classroom Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Introduction to Beading

    Learn to bead a project using the one or two needle Applique’ stitch method. No beading experience required, but helpful. Class size limited to 4 students, ages 18 years old and older. Date: September 23rd through September 27th Monday-Friday. Time: (evenings) 5:30pm to 9pm. Location: Hopitutuqaiki classroom Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Atoo Hopi woman’s woven cape

    This class is for initiated Hopi men ages 18 years and older. Weaving experience required. Class size limited to four. Dates: (Four Weeks) September 3rd through September 6th Tuesday through Friday and September 9th through September 27th Monday- Friday. Time: 9:00am to 2:00pm. Location: Peace Academic Center campus Kykkotsmovi, Az. classroom 3 Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Hokyanapna Hopi socks

    Initiated Hopi students will learn to knit black socks. Knitting experience preferred. Class size limited to four. Date: (two weeks) Sept 30- Oct 3 and Oct 7-10th Monday-Thursday. Time: 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Location: Hopitutuqaiki classroom Kykotsmovi, Az.

  • Wuko Kweewa Rain Sash

    Initiated Hopi men will learn to weave the white rain sash/wedding sash. No prior weaving experience required. Class size limited to 4. Date(s) (Three weeks): September 30th through October 11th, 2024. Monday-Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm. Location: Peace Academic Center campus Kykotsmovi, Az. Classroom 3.

  • Beginning Tsukineko Inks Techniques

    Discover the possibilities of Tsukineko Ink and Fabrico Marker color. This technique can be used to decorate fabric and a variety of other surfaces. An authentic Hopi design will be used to extend your creative skills. No painting experience necessary. Class size limited to 6. Dates: Friday October 4th 6:00pm to 9:00pm, Saturday October 5th 9:00 am to 5:00pm, and Sunday October 6th 9:00 am to 1:00pm. Location: Hopitutuqaiki classroom Kykotsmovi, Az.
